China doesn’t only dominate critical mineral refining and magnet production (which is crucial for AI-related infrastructure and chips) but also managed to significantly bring down the costs of nuclear reactors. These give clear implications for China having a very strong position in the future of global economic development with the ability to be independent and self-sustained.
This will allow China to maintain some access to advanced chips and support rapid growth in China’s manufacturing exports as well as its current account surplus.
